Increasingly, I'm seeing iron four poster beds replace upholstered headboards as the current trend among top designers...
The bed above, by Tara Shaw, is hands-down my favorite, and it incorporates an iron canopy and upholstery...
It reminds me of the bed my parents had when I was growing up. About ten years ago, they traded it out for... an upholstered headboard! Luckily, they kept the iron canopy in storage, and I may just have to pillage it. We've got an queen upholstered headboard now, but I kept it white, thinking it could easily move to a kid's room when we finally break down and get a king-sized mattress.
If Tara Shaw's prices aren't in your budget, this PB Teen is an awfully good option...
I also love this one from Restoration Hardware...
And this one from West Elm is good for a more modern/masculine version... at a great price.
What do you think, are upholstered headboards becoming too common? Are iron canopies he next big thing?
